Maria Patterson is originally from Dublin and has been a member of the Barnhill Bookkeeping team since its inception. She began her career in Insurance with J. C. Collins & Co Ltd (1988-1991), where she worked on varied insurance projects in both Personal and Commercial lines as well as specialising in Professional Indemnity Insurance for the media. Maria later moved to Gogan Insurances as Personal Lines Broker.
In 1993, Maria moved to Irish Permanent (later Permanent TSB) Insurance Department where she worked on ensuring all the properties (private and commercial) mortgaged with the company were adequately insured. This included arranging insurance through their own insurers, both in Ireland and the UK.
During her 15 year career with Permanent TSB Maria gained extensive experience in Mortgages, Investments, Life Assurance/Pension as well as obtaining the title of Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) Diploma through the Financial Regulator. Maria became Assistant Manager of the Mortgage Department dealing with all the existing mortgages from issue to redemption, before moving to the Retail Network where she was Assistant Manager of the Navan branch.
Maria is currently working with Barnhill Bookkeeping as a Payroll Clerk and is half-way through a 4-year Degree in Accountancy under the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), which she hopes to finish in 2012.
